FIDELIO

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE  (GRADE 7)

WORKING HOURS: PART-TIME, 0.5 FTE

START DATE: SEPTEMBER OR OCTOBER 2020

DURATION: 6 MONTHS

FIDELIO is a research project funded by the European Research Council. The research team of the project is collecting a large volume of social data capturing social impacts of European Protected Areas. We are looking for a research associate to join our team for 6 months (0.5 FTE). Main responsibilites of the research associate will be the collection and analysis of quantitative (structured questionnaires) and qualitative (interviews) social data from key stakeholders in the Black Forest National Park area (Germany).

Due to the current situation the researcher would be expected to work mainly from home. Significant part of the fieldwork will also be done by distance (e.g. online surveys, interviews via Skype). 

Essential skills: PhD (or near completion) in environmental sociology, environmental policy, human geography or similar research area, knowledge of main theories regarding human-nature interaction, experience in analysing qualitative social data, fluent in German language. 

Desirable skills: experience in using NVivo software

The researcher will be employed via the Temporary Employment Service of Cambridge University (equivalent to a Grade 7 salary scale)
