We are focusing on the socio-economic impacts of COVID-19 on local communities living in Protected areas and their views for different policy tools managing the impacts of the virus in the long-term. Vassilis Gkoumas has been visiting the National Park of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, one of the most important wetlands in Greece. Vassilis has been interviewing local residents and other local stakeholders to capture their perceptions on how the park influences their everyday lives.
